So. my sweet little boy had such a good Sunday. He was cooperative while I put his boots on him which never happens. His fat little baby feet just never want to squish into shoes.
We went to church and he stayed up in the front row with me the entire time. He has finally figured out that I leave when we get to the nursery so he wasn’t having any of that. BUT, he was such a sweetheart the entire time. He was so quiet, so patient, only tried to stick his fingers in the outlets twice.. so good!
We got home and he took a two and a half hour nap, we grocery shopped for dinner, and he was just so playful and sweet. I love when he lets me get my household duties done!
As I am prepping meat and getting the salad ready the household is silent. Well, this is a first…so I continue enjoying getting dinner ready in peace but for the next five minutes or so the house is still…silent. No pot and pan banging, no musical toys playing, no little boy yelling from the top of stairs that he can’t get down.
I let this go on just a few more minutes and then set dinner aside and decide to explore what Benson is up to and as I come around the corner into the main bathroom there he is standing with his blankey in the toilet. He’s struggling to pull it back out now that it weighs much more soaking wet. So I pull it out of the toilet, and then he reaches back into the toilet to grab the roll of toilet paper out that he thought needed to be in there as well.
Into the bath we go. His new favorite toy, the toilet, is a big NO for me. The devastation after I took away his toy showed as I threw him into the bath tub to get clean. TANTRUM TO THE MAX from start to finish, below you will see that he wouldn’t move from this position. Oh sweet boy..
Unfortunately it wasn’t a one time thing with Benson. This morning as I was putting medication on my eye (pinkeye for Benson and I…gee I wonder how) he was splashing around in the toilet water and trying to drink it. YES!!! TRYING TO DRINK IT. That boy is going to give me a heart attack along with pinkeye.. UGH.
Welcoming the last week of October with new challenges..Toddlers and toilets, and pinkeye.
Moral of the story: NEVER trust silence when there are kids in the home.
