Every year I always think it was the best year of my life, and life always proves to me that the best is yet to come. Every year gets better and better.
2015 was a year of spiritual growth for me. It was also a year of financial growth, and personal independence. I grew so much as a person, finally figuring out who I am, where I want to go in life, who I want to surround myself with and spend my time with. Who I need to let go and who I need to hold onto. It’s been amazing seeing that change in front of me and feeling the weight of burdens and pain leave me.
It feels good to finally be established. For so long I yearned for relationships, friendships, wealth, a life that wasn’t mine, and a person that wasn’t me. It wasn’t until 2015 where I learned to look at myself for the answers and not others or in things. It wasn’t until 2015 that I began to take control of my life and do something with it.
In 2015 I for the first time began eating healthy, working out regularly, and focusing on my health. Not only because I had gained a little weight after Benson and lost some self confidence. But also because I wanted to live long and be healthy, and be active for my kids. I enjoy eating healthy and the benefits that come from that. I have energy, I sleep well, I lost the weight and then some more. I gained self confidence, got rid of unnecessary anxiety and depression, and inspired others to join me in getting healthy and fit.
In 2015 I made it a point to travel. I want our kids to be well traveled and see things that so many don’t get to experience. We are beyond blessed to be able to go where we want and see things on a whim. Tay and I flew to Hawaii and stayed with friends for a week in March. It was nothing short of amazing. We went whale watching in Maui, hiked Oahu, swam in the ocean, saw giant sea turtles, and just enjoyed mommy daughter time while the boys stayed at home.
We took Tay and Benson to Disneyland for Halloween. Bensons first flight, and Tay and Anthony’s first time at Disneyland. Also amazing. Short, sweet, and tons of fun. I hope we can spend many more Halloweens at the happiest place on earth.
We had our second trip to McCall with our amazing friends. Ice skating and sledding were among the top of the favorite activities that weekend.
We had plenty of firsts this year, with both kids. First plane rides, first trips, first steps, first teeth, first time paddle boarding, first camping trips, just literally so many firsts and looking back at 2015 every memory feels sweeter. Every day was something special.
Another HUGE moment for 2015 was Anthony and I’s engagement! Finally got the boy and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to spend my life with. We may have had a rough go of it and a couple of failed attempts but we’ve finally grown up and grown together and the life we are building is a dream.
We ended 2015 with a night out to dinner with Taytum and then back home to celebrate with our sweet boy and some good company. You know the party days are over when your exciting night consists of getting dolled up for dinner and inviting friends over for a game night. (All kids welcome) <<<<<<<<<<<<
Life is perfect.
So, while 2015 was indeed the best year of my life…2016 will top it. This year we are already planning trips, a wedding, and many more firsts. I am so excited to grow as a person, a friend, a mother, and as a family. I’ve got a huge list of goals and I’m already getting started!
