We all have that Pinterest board long before we ever get engaged, am I right?
When we started wedding planning I had so many trends I had pinned from years back, up to current, and with weddings, as the seasons change, the trends change too.
I had no idea planning the design was so difficult. Choosing charger plates, chairs, greenery, votives, table linens, and everything in between was so difficult for me. I am way too indecisive but I had a vision on a much larger scale for something unique, intimate, and a blend of styles that I knew could be pulled off.
What ended up being helpful was putting aside Pinterest, selecting a couple of images to spin ideas off of, and having an amazing event team to help execute my vision!
I love a boho atmosphere so I started there. Asking myself what boho looks like and what could I incorporate into my wedding to give it that free spirit, but still maintain a put together look, after all…it is a wedding.
I also knew going into it that I wanted navy, gold, and tons of greenery. So the color scheme was easy.
I began just saying yes to things I like. I didn’t think about whether or not it was perfect, I just hoped it would come together. I wanted twinkling lights, cacti, some eye catching artsy pieces, and an intimate setting.
I stopped trying to perfect everything and in doing so everything came out perfectly. So let me share the smallest of details that really made the most impact in the overall design and atmosphere of our wedding.
