Welcome HOME

Today is the first day in 7+ months that I have been able to sit and enjoy coffee on my own couch, in my own house, with my own things.

7 months ago we sold our first home and decided to build again, with the hopes of adding another little addition to our family in the coming year or so. We did not anticipate all of the bumps that would come with the new build so 4 months, turned into 5, turned into 6, turned into 7 but here we are… FINALLY moved in and it truly is everything we had envisioned and then some!!

My parents were SO gracious to extend their home to our family of four, giving us free range of the upstairs and rent free living. They housed us, fed us, babysat our children, and helped out in many other ways but living in a home that isn’t your own, with a couple boxes of your items for that long is nearly impossible. Many tears were shed out of frustration by all parties involved.

I have a new appreciation for everything we have worked hard for, and I have a new appreciation for my parents and all their hard work.

The kids are loving the new space. Benson has been running around jumping on the furniture, getting anything he can from the refrigerator, playing with all his toys from storage (it’s like Christmas morning) and yelling “a how, YAY!” (a house, yay) every time we turn into our subdivision. Tay has decorated her room (with my help), gets the luxury of finally having her own tv, and is always dancing around the house and tumbling around the living room. She gets her bed all to herself instead of sharing with her brother. OH, the dream life.

And like I mentioned in the beginning of this post, I have LOVED sitting on my couch watching the fire burn, listening to kids run circles around me, and just enjoying the mom life. We have worked so hard to get here and I am so thankful to be back in the sub with my best friends surrounding me…drinking coffee in my own house…decorating our new home…and loving this little life of mine.
