Set off on an adventure to kick off the New Year.

Jump Creek Falls is a place we have explored in the summer months, but I have never even heard of it being “a thing” any other time of the year. Oh, but it is!

I saw ONE stunning photo of the waterfall a couple weeks back and decided I had to see it for myself. Since the photo, it has snowed quite a bit, thus changing the scene of the frozen waterfall and the surrounding creek, but beautiful nonetheless.

Anyone used the Ergobaby backpack? We bought it for Benson before he was born and I use it more now than I did when he was itty bitty. That thing saves my back from having to do so much strenuous work and it’s so helpful when I do want to adventure out.

I layered Benson in his snowsuit, grabbed the backpack and my camera, picked up our friends, and went off in search of the falls.

It took us about 30 minutes to get to Jump Creek Road, and because of the abundance of snow we had to park quite a ways back from the trail. It was way too risky to brave all the untouched deep powder without chains on our tires. HOWEVER, we witnessed someone plow right through with chains so highly recommend getting some.

The whole hike took us about 2.5 hours. 30 minutes or so on the trail, and about 20 to reach the trail. We did have two kids with us, and the deep powder slows you down.

It was so worth it though. It was so much fun, and it felt great to make use of this cold winter that I loathe so much!

Bubs always enjoys WATER too, so he had a blast!
